Here's the recipe for the choco mocha meringues, courtesy of Martha Stewart, my favorite head bitch in charge.  Her (or rather, her test kitchen staff's) cookie recipes have been foolproof for the most part and I plan to put a lot of them into rotation.  Joy of Cooking, on the other hand, has been a disappointment, with cookie dough which Patton Oswalt would probably call a "failure pile in a sadness bowl."  (Photo from marthastewart.com)

Choco Mocha cha cha cha

What a fantastic Valentine's day! I go to my door and not only is there a High School Musical themed card from my sister (my 36 year old sister, by the way. Who has no children. Who went to the store to buy High School Musical cards. For me. Who's HSM knowledges begins and ends with that nudie picture and that you can now see see High School Musical ON ICE!), there is also a box of Choco Mocha meringues! I don't know much about meringue, I always equated it with Lemon Meringue pie, which I've never had, so this was really a surprise. Uber chocolately (cocoa meringue WITH chocolate chips) and deliciously chewy! I actually changed things up a bit by eating one with a banana, alternating bites. Awesome! Now I have to come up with something to bake!

What is the Kitchenaid making?  I guess you'll find out in a few days...

Oh yeah, we should probably tell you what we are doing!

Before we start yapping about cookies, I guess we should tell you what is going on here. I'm Norah and I live just outside of Chicago in a town called Berwyn. My co-blogstress Maiko lives in El Cerrito, right outside of San Francisco. I recently sent Maiko a package and was surprised to receive the same box back a week later with some tasty Snickerdoodles inside. We decided we would see how many times we could send the same box back and forth filled with cookies. Then we decided to further challenge ourselves and try not to make the same kind twice. I feel like this is advantage: Team Norah because Maiko is an excellent baker and I am not. But it should be fun and hopefully fun to read about.

Viva la Oatmeal!!

Oatmeal raisin definitely makes my All-Time Top 3 Cookies--not only are they healthy and loaded with fiber, they are COOKIES.  Like a teen delinquent huffing glue, I keep inhaling the delicious, spiced aroma of the cookies in the bag.  I have been enjoying them accompanied by the Melange Noel tea (orange and clove spiced black tea) with a little bit of milk.  I love how the oatmeal is ground up into the dough...or so it seems.  Well done, chef Norah!
